Amid the deep convergence of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 5G/6G, and edge computing, smart sensor chips, as the core of information perception and processing, are driving transformation across various industries. China's smart sensor industry has already established a significant global presence. The "China Smart Sensor Industry White Paper (2025)" projects the market size to reach 143 billion yuan in 2023, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 11.5%, demonstrating continued rapid development. The robotics industry, as a core component of intelligent manufacturing, has experienced rapid growth in recent years. Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicates that procurement of sensors for industrial robots will increase by 17% year-on-year in 2023, demonstrating robust market demand.
Guangdong Province's 14th Five-Year Plan lists smart sensors as a key industry. Leveraging the Pearl River Delta's mature industrial chain and policy support, Shenzhen is actively building an industrial cluster ecosystem, achieving significant results, particularly in the robotics industry. By the end of 2024, the number of robotics companies in Shenzhen will reach 74,032, including 14,534 new companies, a year-on-year increase of 39.64%, demonstrating significant growth. The total output value of the industry chain will reach 201.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.58%. In terms of the industrial environment, Shenzhen, leveraging its outstanding industrial manufacturing capabilities, policy support, and innovative environment, is driving the rapid development of the robotics industry. Against this backdrop, the 2025 Asian Robotics Intelligent Sensing System Application Conference will be held in Shenzhen in August. It aims to build a collaborative innovation platform, overcome core robotics sensing technology challenges, accelerate the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, promote technological innovation and industrialization, and enhance the global competitiveness of my country's robotics industry.
